Why White Rose ?
The White Rose is the emblem of the county of Yorkshire in England. Marion and I were born in Yorkshire . Please log on to the following links to read about the War of The Roses. Also about the counties capital of York.

The ancient capital of Yorkshire is York, one of the great cities of the medieval world.

Still encircled by its ancient walls, the city is dominated by the soaring pinnacles of York Minster, the finest Gothic church in northern Europe.

From narrow streets, lively with chic cafes and specialist shops, to trips on its tree-lined river, York is a treasure house with a superb choice of museums and galleries.

York Minster is one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals.

Since the 7th century, the Minster has been at the centre of Christianity in the north of England and today remains a thriving church rooted in the daily offering of worship and prayer.

The Minster was built for the glory of God. Every aspect of this ancient building - from the exquisite, handcrafted stone through to the unrivalled collection of medieval stained glass - tells the story of Jesus Christ.
